The Winnsboro Lions Club came together again to host its annual Rann Foster Pancake Supper fundraiser on Monday, February 2nd.
“We served well over three hundred plates of hotcakes and sausage with milk and coffee, thanks to our hard-working Lions Club and the many businesses which helped sponsor the event,” Lion President, Bobbie Dove said. The Fairfield Elementary School cafeteria was filled with hungry folks who not only seemed to enjoy the supper, but also stayed around and visited with friends and neighbors. The club also sold brooms at the event and welcomed Lions from Blythewood, Greenwood, Abbeville, and Due West. “Due to the excellent attendance and support from our many sponsors, we will be able to continue to provide eye exams and glasses for needy Fairfield County citizens,” Dove said.
Winnsboro Lions have held this fundraiser for over fifty years and, chartered in 1935, will celebrate the club’s eighty-fifth anniversary of community service this spring.
Visitors are always welcome at the clubs twice-a-month, noon meetings. They take place on first and third Tuesdays at the China Buffet. Currently, the club has thirty-seven members, including at least three who have been Lions for over forty years.
Thank you, Fairfield County, for your support!
