“A Night to Remember: Sylvia’s Foundation Annual Gala 2020!"
My wife, Stephanie, and I had a blast at the Armory in Winnsboro this past weekend. It was an elegant evening of celebration, music, dancing, food, and fun! Fairfield County is a better community because of our own, Sylvia Denise Harrison, and her team of volunteers--who each year raise scholarship money to support local Fairfield County students.
The Armory was decorated beautifully, as all of Fairfield showed up dressed in their best ensembles. The Palmetto Groovers dazzled the packed Armory, dancing their hearts out! DJ Pete & Donald Prioleau had the entire crowd on their feet... dancing the night away! Pastor Reginald Byrden inspired us with a message from John 10:10: “Living Your Best Life!”
I extend much gratitude to Jackie Bannister for the absolutely delicious meal and to Michael Davis and Brenda Gripper for the amazing fruit and desserts. The emcee of the evening, Ms. Monique McDaniels wow’d the audience with her high-spirited style - moving the evening’s program along at an amazing pace. Fairfield's own, Sheriff Will Montgomery, surprised our “Lady of the Hour,” Sylvia Harrison, with a special award: "Recognizing our dear friend for all she does... every day, all year long... for Fairfield County students!"
Ms. Harrison raised more money than ever this year--more than $8,000 from ticket sales, advertisements, and donations! Additionally, she confirmed that she would award twelve $500 scholarships to students of Fairfield County! It is an understatement to say that she brought the entire community together, to once again, celebrate all that is good about our local Fairfield communities. Thank you, Sylvia! Thank you to ALL who came out this weekend - together, making a difference!
