Riverbanks at the Library

riverbanks at the library

Story by: Maddie HibbsContributor/Children's Librarian

The Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Garden visited the Fairfield County Library on June 20th. Their program, “Animals in the Stars,” focused on animal constellations to fit in with the space theme of the library’s summer reading program. In addition to bringing pets, bird feathers, and a giraffe’s vertebrae for the kids to handle, two live animals were also in attendance. The first was Elphy, a large, poisonous water toad. The second was Toro, a six feet long bull snake. Everyone was able to pet Toro and see Elphy up close!
