Spirit Fest for Back to School

Story by: Gerell Lawhorne and Krishayla Boyd

Recently, the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Spirit Fest in downtown Winnsboro at the Town Clock. Students from Fairfield Central High School (FCHS), Richard-Winn Academy (RWA), and the Midlands STEM School gathered to showcase to the public the various sports teams from each school.

In addition to showcasing the teams, Tracie Swilley, FCHS Principal stated, “Over the past year we’ve renovated multiple locations on campus. Our football field has been converted to turf, and we have a new field house that is utilized by the tennis, softball, and football. Our gym has been redesigned with new bleachers and flooring. We hope that you come out and support our Griffins during their seasons!” Coach Roach, FCHS Athletic Director, introduced all of the coaches for Fall Sports: Robin Gaither- cheerleading; Syreeta Thompson- tennis, Anita Mobley- volleyball, and Demetrius Davis- football.

Cheerleaders from RWA and FCHS both performed phenomenally, and the teams from each school are hoping to have successful seasons for the 2019-2020 school year!
