Convocation 2019: Ready! Set! G.L.O.W.!

What is Convocation?

It is an exciting and energizing opportunity for all Fairfield County School District employees and community stakeholders to kick-off a new school year! It was held on Thursday, August 15th at Fairfield Central High School. This year's theme is "Ready! Set! G.L.O.W.!" G.L.O.W. stands for: Growth Mindset. Leading by Example. One Fairfield. +Working Together! "

As educators, we are here for the children! It is our responsibility to give them the best educational opportunities, to show up everyday ready to pour into them, to support them in achieving their greatest potential, and to challenge them to stretch beyond their comfort zones. We are ready to put in the work, as we take this District from ordinary to extraordinary," Superintendent J.R. Green said.

From the beginning to the end of the event, it was high-energy and high-positivity--whether welcoming new employees to the District, supporting the food trucks and vendors, or the many door prizes.

Dr. J.R. Green delivered his charge for the new school year. He expressed a quote that personally resonates with him, "Success can be obtained by all who pursue it," and he believes all members of the District and its students have the opportunity to experience a successful year.
