What is your perception of normal? Everyone has their own unique way of perceiving life, as well as the challenges that come along with it. In Mr. Woodard’s case, he views each day as an opportunity to do something great.

Meet Mr. Bruce K. Woodard. He is the current athletic grounds coordinator for FCHS. He has worked for the Fairfield County School District since 1986.Around that time, the construction of the school had just begun and he was lucky enough to observe the entire operation from start until finish. Hearing and speaking impairments do not slow or put a pause in the life of Mr. Woodard. Instead, he is encouraged to work twice as hard to accomplish his goals.The Fairfield County School District does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability or citizenship status. As a result, the challenges faced by Mr. Woodard did not hinder him from securing employment with the district. According to Woodard, he didn’t face any major problems because there are programs for people with challenges. The programs assist individuals with locating jobs that fit their personalities, which is how he became a part of themGriffin family. At work, Mr. Woodard does not face any obstacles that he is unable to overcome. He is a diligent employee who always stays extremely busy.

Mr. Woodard takes great pride in the duties assigned to him. He enjoys standing back and observing his work come to life. Mr. Woodard is very close to his sister. She has been a great source of support ever since the death of his parents. She can be described as his eyes and ears. Although his sister is always there when he needs her, he does not need her constant assistance. Mr. Woodard is very independent and enjoys living alone and driving. In his free time, he loves sports, caring for flowers and trees, and also making things. Overall, Mr. Bruce K. Woodard enjoys being in Fairfield County. Mr. Woodard is a vital part of the Fairfield County School District family. He states that he is very proud to be a Griffin.
