Teachers Attend Bootcamp

National Board Certified teachers, Dr. Vera Harrison and Mrs. Debbie Cooper, of McCrorey-Liston School of Technology attended the National Board Advocacy Bootcamp. The camp is designed to help networks build capacity to advocate on the local and state level for National Board. The ladies learned and practiced strategies to help them:

  • Become advocates for the National Board and NBCTs.

  • Understand legislation and the legislative process.

  • Have confidence and feel comfortable with:

      • Telling their story

      • Describing the value of National Board Certification

      • Targeting and communicating with stakeholders (legislature, administration) in print (letters, email), social media, and in small groups

      • Talking about using federal funds for NBC (knowledge products)
