Fairfield Alumni Returns

Story by: Gerell Lawhorne and Jamara GreenStudent Journalists

On Thursday, April 10th, several Fairfield Central Alumni returned for the 2019 Fairfield Middle School Career day. The students day started by visiting different occupations. The careers ranged from attorneys to entrepreneurs to clothing store representatives. The students got the chance to step into the shoes of the career representatives, literally! In the 400 hall, students got to dress help like Sergeant Brett Roberts. While wearing his attire, he told his experiences in Alaska, Afghanistan, and many other places all over the world. Down on the 100 hall, student spoke to a representative from one of their favorite stores, DTLR. This Fairfield Middle School Alumni represents DTLR all over the state. He encouraged the students to follow their dreams. Next door, entrepreneur Mrs. Lakisha Irby told the students about the value of multiple sources of income. Irby, who is a owner of multiple businesses, shared with the students how to manage their time and how to stay driven. She also took the time to learn about the students goals. Fairfield Middle School teacher, Ms. Danielle Miller, career specialist at FMS, helped plan this event. She expressed her gratitude to all of the career representatives. It brought her great joy to know so many Fairfield Central and Middle Alumni would return to encourage students for their community.
