Saturday morning, the eighth day of June, 158 students graduated from Fairfi eld Central High School. From the looks on everyone’s face, they were all excited to graduate and start their new journey ahead. With all their hard work and dedication, the Class of 2019 managed to get over 500 college acceptances and over $12 million in scholarships and fi nancial assistance. Class Valedictorian Janice Jackson has received over $2 million in scholarships and fi nancial awards. Salutatorian Jordan Dove, better known as “Cheese”, received over $6,000 in local scholarships. I was honored to be an usher for the Class of 2019 graduation. Walking down on the fi eld, hearing all the families screaming for their child, it almost felt like I was graduating with the class. This made me think of my graduation next year, the Class of 2020! I am excited to receive my diploma and to be able to say, “I did it.” Class of 2019, you all should be proud, because it’s not easy! Orrin Hatch said, “Graduation is not the end; it’s the beginning.” There are many more accomplishments you have to achieve and many more things you must encounter. But, never give up because nothing comes easy. You have to face the challenges in order to succeed later in life. Our principal, Mrs. Tracie Swilley, tells us everyday, “You all are ready to Soar to Greatness: Griffins Believe, Griffins Achieve, and Griffins Succeed!”
