Congratulations!
At the September 22, 2025 meeting, Fairfield County Council recognized Robert W. Davis with a Proclamation honoring his life and legacy, in the service of the Fairfield Community.
WHEREAS, Mr. Robert Davis was a proud native of Fairfield County and was a man deeply committed to his family, community, and faith. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis served honorably in the United States Army and continued his service to others through a life dedicated to leadership and community improvement; and
WHEREAS, he was a faithful member of his church, Greater St. John AME Zion Church, where he previously served as a steward, offering both spiritual and practical guidance to his congregation; and
WHEREAS, he served as a Fairfield County Council member for 18 years, leaving a legacy of advocacy, growth, and integrity; and
WHEREAS, he was a graduate of Fairfield High School and held the position of vice president of the alumni association, remaining engaged and committed to preserving the history and progress of the school he loved.; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was known for his warm smile and welcoming spirit - he never met a stranger. His ability to connect with people and make them feel valued was a gift he generously shared throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, he has left a legacy of love, service, and strength that will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he impacted; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that Chairman Clarence Gilbert, District 7, and the members of the Fairfield County Council, would like to honor the memory of MR. ROBERT W. DAVIS. We will never forget your contributions to our County and beyond.
