Reverend Jeffrey Williams

Reverend Jeffery Williams was born and reared in Columbia, SC and later moved to Winnsboro SC in 1980 with his wife. He is the pastor of Jesus Christ Church, here in Winnsboro. He completed his higher education career at Benedict College, where he majored in Criminal Justice Administration. He didn't get to work in the field, though, as he was called into ministry while in college.

He has been preaching for 43 years and expressed that he will preach until it's his time to leave this world. He has written a book called God’s Final Call. He has also made a product called Zion’s Oil, which is an anointing oil and helps with pain. He has served and continues to serve in missionary work in India, Amsterdam, France, Germany, and Jamaica. He is now in the process in doing missionary work in Kenya, Africa.

His missionary group helps others in the ministry, as they fellowship with one another, and he also lends a helping hand regarding transportation so that other ministers can go out and preach the gospel. Reverend Williams expressed that a few of his greatest accomplishments were owning a gas station in Winnsboro, car dealerships, and a few restaurants with his wife.

Even with ownership in the community, though, he felt that he should be doing much more. Therefore, his greatest accomplishment of all is what he does for the Lord, he said. He simply wants to please God in all he does. In his free time, Reverend Williams loves to travel to places such as the mountains, Charleston, or to museums.

He believes that what makes him unique is that he is original. "If I am going to preach the Word, then I am going to live by the Word," he expressed. When asked what advice he offers to the younger generation, he said, "You should be on time, prepared, committed, and have a purpose when doing something." He feels that young people lack commitment and the drive to being successful. He wants to encourage kids to work hard and hit the books to better themselves and others.

He encourages young people to not follow the crowd, but to get their education and become something. It is the parents' responsibility, he conveyed, to teach children to be themselves. Reverend Williams shared that what gives his life purpose is “helping people see the light, encouraging people to give their life to God, and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.” He wants to offer people hope, love, and faith to see the greatness in God.

He wants to convert people from the bad to the things that are good, wholesome, and pure. His mission is to share the gospel to as many that will listen. He wants people to remember him for who he is, a Christian. He compares his life to a vapor, in that it appears for a little while and then it’s gone. He wants to be remembered as someone who positively influenced others' lives, a man who loves the Lord and loves people, and is always willing to help everyone he can.
