On November 19, 2018, Mr. Thomas Gibson turned 100 years old. Mr. Gibson was born in Ridgeway, South Carolina and reared in a household with four siblings. Years later, Mr. Gibson served in the United States Army. After his military service, he fathered seven boys. While his role as a father has not ended, he now spends time being an active community member. Mr. Gibson is currently a member and deacon of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, where he attends Sunday school and church every Sunday morning. Since Deacon Gibson’s birth in 1918, he has witnessed eighteen presidents, two world wars, and the shaping of our growing community. On February 10th, Gibson was awarded a proclamation for his 100th birthday from Senator Lindsey Graham, Congressman Ralph Norman, and Senator Mike Fanning. He received these proclamations at his home church, the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, in front of his closest friends and family
