Senior Spotlight Mrs. Mamie Gibson

Mrs. Mamie Gibson

Mrs. Mamie Gibson was born and reared in Winnsboro, SC. During the seventies and eighties, she traveled with her husband for 15 years and returned to Fairfield in 1985. She attends attends Browns Chapel Baptist Church in Jenkinsville.

Mrs. Gibson's career experiences are in childcare, where she served for 25 years. She now works at Logan Elementary School in Columbia, SC, and she has been working there for 16 years.

Mrs. Gibson enjoys singing, being with her family, and tutoring. She feels that she is very confident, outgoing, and is a go-getter. When asked what she believes makes her unique, she expressed that she loves the Lord.

Her advice to today's generation is to “Stay focused, go to church, listen to your parents, and find a God-based church where you can learn about God, because I feel like that’s important.” Mrs. Gibson feels like being in tune with God and knowing that there’s something better on the other side gives her life purpose.

Mrs. Mamie Gibson wants to be remembered as a child of God, devoted to her children, protective, and someone that anyone can count on.
