Ms. Hattie Burns

Hattie Burns also referred to by many as, “Momma Hattie”, celebrated her 72nd birthday on May 27th. She is known for her contagious smile and warm personality. She never meets a stranger. Hattie is always willing to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever one is needed. Hattie has worked in manufacturing, home healthcare, state medical transportation, and most recently with the Fairfield County School District--where she retired in 2002 as a teacher/student assistant and bus driver. She is a hard-working retiree. She currently drives for the district for field trips, and she also drives for the St. Paul Baptist Church to assist with their Vacation Bible School transportation. Mrs. Burns is well known for her amazing cake baking abilities. She has also been known to bake pies! She is a lifelong member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church in the White Oak Community. In her free time she loves worldwide travel. One of her favorite lasting pastimes is her love for dancing. She always finds time to engage in line dancing, which not only keeps her active and healthy, but it also provides opportunities for her to travel and meet new people. One of her favorite quotes is, “Treat people like you want to be treated.”
